The design of this space is based on the idea of a minimal, modern, clean and simple space. It is characterized by minimal ceilings, large windows and marble flooring. The furniture is made from natural materials, like wood. Light is used as an element in contemporary interior design. It creates an atmosphere or a sense of space by enhancing the brightness of objects and creating contrast with darker elements. The use of colour in contemporary interior design is simple or complex, depending on the style that is being used. Colours are used to create contrast with other colours, create harmony and simply add interest to an overall design scheme. Colourful materials such as leather, glass and steel are often incorporated into contemporary interior designs to create an atmosphere that contrasts with more muted tones found elsewhere within the room (such as wood).
